FRIDAY June 28th, 2019!!!

Time to pack up!

I’m on the home stretch of publishing my next book about all the gems of wisdom I’ve learned over 30 some years and this trip should give me the solitude I need to finish “LIFE WISDOM”.

We checked in to our accommodations for the week and then headed to the La Brea Tar pit park. This is one of my favorite places in L.A. Today was Latin Music day at the Amphitheater so we had an extra special treat while enjoying the park.

To end the day we went to watch Aladdin at the Chinese theater. It is such a beautiful place to enjoy films.

We try to make Sunday’s our extra spiritual morning and beach afternoon. We went to the Studio City market and then to explore Simon Rodia’s WATTS TOWERS before heading to Venice for the day.

We ended the day by going to a Studio City pub called “Darts Darts Darts” to watch the men’s soccer team get past Curacao in the Gold Cup quarter finals. Then we took a pizza back home to close out the night with a movie.

I spent the morning working on my book and this blog before exploring the neighborhood. Tujunga Ave. is a lovely area with wild plum trees and Mediterranean flowers everywhere. One thing that was lacking was the presence of Orange trees.

I found this amazing tree house. It was three levels and included some ornate features like wood shutters.

I eventually found my way to the park and got busy with a full leg workout. There are several nice body weight machines at the Woodbridge park. There was also an outdoor workout group for us to mingle with.

We then got on an electric scooter and rode around the hood. There was this lovely rose plastered wall with tile steps and beautiful flowers down the road.

Started the morning with some blog updates while loading the Dart Connect stream on my phone so I could follow the first PDC qualifier while hiking.

While I got caught up on the blog and photos I watched the USWNT defeat England in the Women’s Wolrd Cup. After the game was over I went and explored the area around the Universal Studios on a BIRD scooter. I learned not to get within 2 blocks of their riding dead zones. It took me 10 minutes to cross a dangerous intersection by the interstate that was under construction and then the scooter shut down saying I was too far out of the riding zone. I couldn’t shut off the billing timer until I returned to the safe zone. It took another 10 minutes to cross the intersection again and then the scooter gps didn’t report accurately so I had to go another 10 minutes back towards where I started before it would finally let me log out. I ended up paying $12 for $4 worth of a scooter ride.

Don’t get even try to go close to the boarder if you are in this situation.

I went back to the apartment and rested before my Tuesday poker tournament. The Tuesday night game in Sherman Oaks is one of my favorites. It is a $50 entry and the pot usually reaches around $1800 making for good payouts.

Due to the 4th holiday the turn out was a bit low but I still got 2nd place and made $360 to pay for my trip. I have made money at this game all four times I have been able to go.

Today I was getting ready for our trip to Vegas so I stayed close to the apartment. I watched more of the PDC qualifiers and the USMNT beat Jamaica to advance to the Gold cup final vs. Mexico.

I spent most of the day doing different work outs in the park and having wonderful conversations with new friends. I met this very interesting Russian born model, psychologist and spiritual life coach women named Nakita. I’m helping guide her on a quest to establish a Spiritual Center similar to what I am forming in Hawkins Texas.

I picked V up from work and we went to dinner with actor buddy, Rod. We went to this lovely outdoor cafe again Aroma’s. It is decorated very similar to what we want to do at the Edom shop with this amazing pergola.

After dinner, we headed up the mountain to do some exploring during sunset. We found some lovely abandoned areas with the remains of unique structures. A few areas around the parks were being zoned to allow new homes to be built which added this cool ambiance from having the combination of the two.

Clarita Canyon

We got up at 6am to load up. By 7:30am, we were on the road to head for Vegas for the World Series of Darts and Poker.

If you are not on the road early, the sub 4 hour drive becomes a 5.5 hour nightmare. We dodged all of the traffic and made it in under 4 hours. We had one slight moment of excitement that was a once in a lifetime experience. We didn’t really notice but we drove just a few miles to the east of one of the larger earth quakes in California in the past 30 years. This 6.4 earth quake was just west of the interstate to Vegas.

When we arrived we did a lap around town before scoping out the PDC Dart scene at Mandalay Bay.

We then went to Excalibur and checked into our room. We went to the pool for a few hours before going back to the Mandalay Bay for dinner.

We went to the Noodle Cafe and the world #6 PDC dart pro, Michael Smith sat next to us with his family. I took a few pictures and told him “I enjoyed his game; it was nice to him; and wished him some straight shooting in the finals tomorrow.” Michael said thank you very much and told me he was feeling good as he shook my hand.

After dinner we spent $27 each and went to the pool party and firework show. It was midnight by the time we got back to Excalibur so we called it a night.

Started the morning by getting an all day buffet pass for $38. The food was worth it if you go for all 3 meals.

I spent the morning watching darts and poker at the pool. Then after lunch I hit the gym until 3:30. I did a little more writing and then headed over to the Rio to watch the WSOP Main event action and play a little poker.

Upon arriving at the Rio there was a line of poker players being escorted to a new table assignment so I followed them to the hot zone. We walked through the casino gambling hall and rounded a corner to the entrance of the convention center. As I continued down the hall more WSOP signs and advertising was on display. The hall opened up to a grand entry area that housed all the WSOP clothing merchandise. Beyond the grand entry was the first entrance to the biggest room called the Pavilion.

As I walked around the tables in the Pavilion I was able to watch some of the higher profile players including Norm McDonald, Kevin Pollak, defending champion John Cynn, Jamie Gold, Shaun Deeb and Jesse Sylvia.

I was near Kevin Pollak’s table when one or two players started standing up at each table and quickly headed for the exits. I couldn’t understand what the commotion was all about but a few seconds later people near me started pointing at the ceilings!

We were experiencing a slight after shock and the light platforms along with any other lose items were swaying back and forth. I was moving around stretching during the 3 seconds of the shake so I didn’t even notice it. The WSOP Director announced that the players were to take an early dinner break and return in 90 minutes for safety reasons. The dealers had to stay at the table and guard the chips during the commotion.

I wanted to get to the ESPN filming area known as the Thunderdome before the convention center was locked up. It was possible that the tournament may be suspended for the remainder of the night and I wanted to experience the featured tables in the Amazon room so I worked my way through the 4,000 some players to reach the Amazon.

I had to wait for the next person to open the door in order to gain access into the locked area. Once inside it was amazing. The featured tables were highlighted by neon signs and surrounded by camera equipment and video screens. I took some video and pictures and then explored the rest of the area while waiting for the tournament to continue.

WSOP thunderdome

I spent the rest of the night, until 1am, watching the featured tables with Jamie Gold and Jesse Sylvia. You can see me in the background of the day 1c programming on ESPN! Vanessa was keeping busy with some entertainment of her own.  😉

Vegas buns

I returned back to the Excalibur to walk Vanessa back to the room from the lounge she was relaxing in.

The previous 2 days were so busy with the PDC Darts and WSOP events that I didn’t have much time to play any poker myself. I jumped out of bed at 7am and headed to the Excalibur poker room to get some action.

At 11am it was time to check out. We loaded up the car and headed to Red Rock Canyon park West of town.

We made it back to L.A. about 6pm and went straight to a pool party at the top of Laurel Canyon.

After the party we went to check in to our new accommadations where V will be staying in L.A. before hitting the road for filming.

We started the day by watching the USA women’s national team beat the Netherlands in the World Cup final. We then went to explore another new farmer’s market. This time we were at a Laurel Canyon / Encino market.

Encino Market

After the market we went to the Mediation Gardens on Sunset. It is one of my favorite Sunday destinations.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

After the garden, it was time to head to a sports bar to watch the men’s Gold Cup final against Mexico.

Soccer party

We ended the night by going to stand up night at the Comedy Store on Sunset. A few well known comedians were on the line up.

I went straight to the airport after the comedy finshed at 10p. Unfortunately the traffic was extra slow and there were no delays on my flight. The biggest problem however was that I was in such a hurry, I missed a sign redirecting me between two terminals and the next thing I knew I was passing through a security exit. This caused me to have to start the check in process all over and repeat the previous 13 minutes of the journey. Once I arrived to the gate that was listed on my ticket, the gate display said Orlando instead of DFW. I asked the service rep and she explained that the gate was changed from 39 to 34. I then gave up because after all the delays, I was already 8 minutes past the final boarding time.

By the time I made it to gate 34, the service rep told me the flight was departing and I would have to get in line for a stand by ticket. I quickly met 4 other parties that were about to begin the same tedious game of stand by with me. We didn’t know it then, but we would be playing 5 rounds of this game over the next 10 hours. Our original flights were scheduled around midnight and finding an open seat on any other flight would be left up to luck due to others missing their boarding as well. LAX to DFW is one of the most highly demanded flights because they transport a large portion of international travelors.

This father, son, wife and their dog were first in line. Followed by a young girl wanting to transfer to a sooner flight, a young man traveling solo and then me. There was also this elderly Asian man who would ask the same question over and over each time we were transferred to a new flight and gate.

The mom, dog and son got on a flight at 6am. The young girl got a seat on a 7am flight. There were no seats open on the 8am and 9am flights. The father, the young man and I all finally got a seat on the 10am flight.

I made it to DFW at 3:30pm and there were no seats available on the 5pm flight but I was given the final available seat on the 9pm flight. The 5pm flight was canceled due to possible lightning and I quickly took the opportunity to make friends with a businessman who clearly had his life together. We discussed sharing a rental car and he picked one other businessman to join us. There was no sense in me waiting around the airport for another 4 hours with the high probablility that the flight would be canceled anyway.

It turned out that the other passenger fella lived next door to my most recent customer out in the middle of nowhere Ben Wheeler country side.

We dropped off the Ben Wheeler man at his house and then siad our good-byes at the Tyler airport bringing my July Los Angeles adventure to an end.

Stay tuned for my next journey. In late July and early August I plan on taking my bi-annual birthday adventure to the Colorado Rockies, Black Hills and Sturgis motorcycle rally!

What does enlightenment mean to you? Below I am listing some detailed examples of what it means to me.

Some cultures put more emphasis on the philosophy then others. Some cultures just have a modified version with a different name.

Regardless of where you are in the world, you will find beings on the path of enlightenment. If keywords like peace, love, kindness, forgiveness, health, fitness, nature, knowledge and so on key your attention, then you are on the Enlightenment path.

If you choose to reach further and attain a higher state of enlightenment, this guide is for you.

First, you must care for your self above all else. Your body, spirit and mind are the temple that you build your enlightenment upon and they need to be strong in order to shine your light onto others.

Internally you need to be knowledgeable of the science of breathing. The yin of human life requires oxygenated air aprox. every 4 minutes, water every 4 days and nutritional energy within aprox. 4 weeks to live. By the life law of yin, this means breathing is the most powerful form of enlightenment.

Those who have reached the highest levels of enlightenment, do so by mastering ancient breathing meditation techniques. Read “The Science of Breath” by Ramacharaka for detailed guides on how to use breath to reverse illness and many others benefits. Contact me for a free copy.

A healthy human body is over 60% water. Hydration health and nutritional diet are the next most important paths to enlightenment. Drinking at least 64 ounces of pure fluids daily is needed by the average human to maintain maximum health levels. A proper intake of fluids is needed to digest the solid food nutrients that follow.

The oldest of human artifacts and ancient scriptures support the claims that humans are meant to be herbivores. Plant based diets not only achieve a higher level of health enlightenment, but they also provide a solution to some of the world’s biggest evils. The “animals for food and resources” industry is the root of deforestation, the extinction of animals, animal cruelty and many more evils blocking the path to enlightenment. If you want more help getting over an addiction to meat, just watch some of Louie Psihoyos’ films like “Racing Extinction”.   I can get you copies of any of these films you like. It is not just about food consumption either. The slaughter of living creatures is also taking place to provide you with beauty products and medicine and much more. Researching the ingredients of products and refusing to support anything living being based is a major step up on your path.

Moving on, let’s talk muscular and circulatory enlightenment. All around fitness is crucial to happiness and other enlightened emotions. Physical forms of yoga, weight lifting, cardio, Reiki, massage and such have the power to transcend you to a new level. I escape the material world every few months to focus on these methods. Living outside of a temple in a modern day industrialized nation like the United States makes it very hard to maintain or increase your physical enlightenment. Frequent trips to solitude are needed to reset and vanquish the clutter blocking your path. But in the mean time, while you are caught in the rat race, do some random tummy tucks/push ups/squats and such throughout your day to stay balanced. If you are shy and concerned with what those around you will think, then you are failing to surround yourself with other enlightenment seekers and this will only block your path.

Beyond the physical, think about how you spend your time. Are you volunteering and helping contribute to enlightened causes around you? Are you spending the daylight by unplugging and venturing to enjoy hobbies outdoors? Do you think about how your actions affect the world and do your enlightened best? Simple actions like recycling, growing your own food and harnessing your own energy can change the world for the better over night if enough of us do it!

Treasure your freedom and defend it through these enlightened methods. Live in the moment; appreciate life like it is ending today! Grasp every second like you are on a vacation and the end is near, because it really is closer than we sometimes realize!

Peace, love, forgive, enlighten.

I was taking this week to get caught up on eBay listings so I only helped SI with the critical issues from home in South Bay.

Monday, January 30, I went and spent 4 hours of my life getting processed for a California food grant so I would have more ability to help people in situations like Julia’s.

I had to wait 1 hour in line to get in the building, 1 hour to get to the check in desk and 1.5 hours to meet my processor and another 30 minutes to complete the application. The end result was that I should get the funding by Friday. I then went to a different department to learn how the emergency services work for those unable to work and denied other benefits.

California only requires a state id with an address to give $221 and free medical to those who wait in line and complete the paper work. The system does not seem to inspire the people to get part time jobs though because if they have any reported tax income they are disqualified from the program and only given food benefits.

The free medical system saves the average american thousands per year and is very tempting to exchange in place of a tax declaring job.

Tuesday, I went and biked the strand from Hermosa to Del Ray with Sean and then got a few hours of work done at night. We ate at Hennesey’s on the Pier overlooking the beach. Tuesday’s is 2 for 1 burgers. We paid $5 each for gourmet burgers and chips and pickles. I enjoyed a soy earth burger with pineapple and avacado.

Wednesday, I was able to get a bunch done and then when SP came home he suggested we go use a coupon for dinner at a local bar’s trivia night event. The service at Suzy’s was not too friendly but the food was average. We were so far behind the leaders by the end of the 3rd round that we gave up and went home.

By the time we got home it was late and I didn’t feel like focusing on more work.

Thursday, Sean went to the gym and did errands all day while I got listings done. A web client of his has 10 guest passes on his work days at the Leno Comedy club in Hermosa so we made plans to use them this day. SP picked me up at 7 and we were off.

For the price of two $4 dolllar sodas I was sitting front center to meet Paul Reiser from “Mad About You” and Kirk Fox from SNL. Kirk is Pauly Shores best friend who helped him film “The Death of Pauly”.  There was also an amazing juggler who made the top 10 on Americas Got Talent. He juggled a bowling ball, hatchet and golf ball. He also bounced a pin behind his back and kicked it back in front and continued juggling.

Friday I needed to pay my final $134 at Santa Monica court. I waited until 2p expecting to pay it online. When I logged in the system had not credited my payments so I had to rush to the train and hope I could make it to the courthouse before 4:30.

I got there at 4:50 and made the best of the trip by enjoying the sunset from the Bluffs park.  There were some performers in the park I had not met before on this night. There was a pirate with 3 trained parrots, a cat woman and a Madonna singer.

After an hour of moonlight yoga I headed back home to focus on more eBay listings.

Saturday I did a swim workout and then continued to lock myself down in order to get all the charity items listed on eBay. If I would have completed my goal I would have gone to The Musical Mammal’s Fashion show downtown all night but it wasn’t meant to be.

Sunday, Feb. 5th, was Super Bowl Sunday so we invited friends over and made some friendly bets on the commercials. Our friend Danny Woo was a bit over excited when a Giants player with a similar name wood be called by the announcers. The more he drank, the louder he got. Somehow I was able to get everything listed by the end of the night amongst the partying.

My favorite commercials were the M&M nude party, the Sketchers Moonwalking dog and the Perfect Dream Hyundai.

So you say there is stress.

Stress from life. Stress from business.

It surrounds us all.

Vent it to the sky, moon and beyond.

Vent the stress so far away.

Yell it out, bang it out, kick it around!

So far away that when you come back down,

all that is left is PEACE and Focus.

Speaking of peace and time off. Yes take it. Appreciate every second of the peace.

Listen to every sound, smell every scent. Taste the calm.

You sound like you are doing a good job of remembering your roots.

You know business time is business time.

The best you can do is use your BUSINESS time as efficiently as possible.

KEEP the line and border strong between PERSONAL TIME and keep the sanity.

Whatever your hobby of choice, take time for it.

Take time for you.

Take time for your body and health above ALL.

Without body, there is no business.

Without business, THERE WILL ALWAYS BE LIFE!!!!

Find your center. Keep the balance.

and stretch like the yogi you are.

The business will be there waiting, always.

You may miss opportunity.

You may miss out on money, but what good is that if you have to use it to repair your damaged body.

You end up worse off in the rat race of time.

Time, IT will always be there for as long as the body, mind and spirit.

LOVE the body, mind and spirit, ALWAYS!

I was recently asked to comment on Religion for a Univ. Texas research study. Here is what I had to share.

UT-Tyler Heather;

When conducting a written survey on a grey area topic, you will get more precise answers when including YOUR intended definition of any terms used with multiple ( accepted definitions. When such an example occurs in your questions below, I start my reply with the definition I have in mind while composing an answer.

Background info on your subject is also critical in understanding the depth of their written words. Orally I am able to represent my tone etc. for clarification but with written answers the scale of potential misunderstanding is vast.

That said, my background… ie. summary of my “religious beliefs”; includes a split family upbringing. My parents separated when I was one so I was bounced around multiple grandparent homes. One family was active lutheran and I attended church activities most Sundays May-Sept up to Sept. 1996. From Oct.-April 1989-93 I attended random bible classes to expand my denomination experiences and begin my independent thinking.

Another branch of the family; the great grandparent/elder in my life, reminded me about my traditional and native heritage. My direct ancestors range from Native Sioux, homesteading Germans via Virginia/Minnesota (Willa Cather group), Revolutionary War heroes (Sible Luddington/Paul Revere) and Pilgrims (Mayo Clinic/Mayflower). These stories helped mold me to grow with an open mind on religion.

That known, here are my direct answers for your project.

*Your first question should have addressed the subject’s actual beliefs without assuming they will be 100% atheistic.

ex: What fundamental set of beliefs do you agree upon?

For me, I organize gatherings of free thinkers and get invited to speak at formal conferences to inspire others to improve the world. My beliefs are un-titled. They can best be classified as “other” in that I am open to a combination of all beliefs.

I have attended gatherings for ALL known religious sects in the countries I have traveled. None, except extremists like the KuKK, support evil such as genocide. Only the violent should not be accepted, but no one religion need to be declared as “THE ONE and ONLY”. They all respect life and treat their neighbors as they want to be treated.

When declaring ones faith and allowing a title to be placed over them, they need to prioritize the key points of their faith.

For me that is:

A. treat thy neighbor as we encourage they treat us

1. respect nature as thyself (Shall Not kill/murder)

1. respect my body and temple as one (Honor your father/mother – creator)

1. Respect all cultures interpretations of the divine. Love all, Respect All. (You Shall have no gods before me?)

1. Do not steal (thou shall not steal)

1. Do not deceive (shall not bear false witness against)

3. Share All, Own Nothing to channel your Negative Energy for Good (You shall not covet your neighbors belongings?)

1. Every day is Holy (Keep the Sabbath Holy?)

2. Open to faith, listen to science (I am the Lord, your God?)

2. Every being is Equal (You shall not make for yourself an idol?)

2. Respect the peaceful and protect the innocent. (Do not take the name of the Lord in vain?)

3. Do not settle for less than Eternal True Love while experiencing true bliss. (You shall not commit adultery / covet your neighbors spouse?)

My faith approves the 4 key commandments mentioned above but alters the following 6:

I am The Lord, YOUR god? – The terms “Lord/God/Father/Creator” represent the spiritual energy around us that humans like to argue over naming. It is just a “title”. The quoting use of “I” is the problem. The energy of faith is not a single being, rather it be addressed openly like the following.

2. Open to faith, listen to science

You Shall have no gods before me? – Faith is open and bears no special identification. Names are used in regions of cultures for ease of identification in conversation. Buddha, the Christian GOD, Mother Nature, Father Time; all just a molecule in the cell of spiritual energy. Respect all as equals.

1. Respect all cultures interpretations of the divine. Love all, Respect All.

You shall not make for yourself an idol? – Do not force others by means of convincement or otherwise, that ONE single way is the only and true way. Beings are free to follow but encouraged to aid as equals.

2. Every being is equal

Do not take the name of the Lord in vain? – Do not ridicule various peaceful beliefs, ignore the violent, and protect the innocent.

2. Respect the peaceful and protect the innocent.

Keep the Sabbath Holy? Every day should be a reminder to your faith. Meditate (focus) while you eat, be in the now, stay aware and take time for healthy activities like exercise and yoga etc.

2. Every day is Holy

You shall not commit adultery / covet your neighbors spouse? If a spouse walks with emptiness, it should be their quest to search for fulfillment. One may settle for the current best spouse but find more fulfillment down the road. Do not commit if you are not full or be prepared to separate prior to committing adultery.

3. Do not settle for less than Eternal True Love while experiencing true bliss.

You shall not covet your neighbors belongings? One should remain free to serve the greater good. This can best be accomplished by sharing all and “owning” nothing. War causing Evils such as Greed, materialism, capitalism etc. can all be conquered.

3. Share All, Own Nothing to channel your Negative Energy for Good

Belief Atheism / Agnostic Survey:

Do you consider it a religion?

“a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects: the Christian religion; the Buddhist religion.”

Atheism – “disbelief in the existence of a supreme being or beings.”

Atheism thus connects a set of beliefs agreed upon by a sect and is “religion”.

How were u raised: Parents beliefs?

Define Belief and Faith specifically for your research please. My definition is:

Belief: “confidence in the truth or existence of something not immediately susceptible to rigorous proof: a statement unworthy of belief.”

Faith: “confidence or trust in a person or thing.”

See background info above.

What convinced you to change to atheism?

I remain open and un-classified but being a free thinker, I recognize the energy around me and stay mutual as to whether the energy or the science came first. My consciousness was not present during the creation to witness. I have not experienced a supreme being but I have experienced science. To decide to be on only one side of the fence would mean to place more weight on science or faith.

Does anyone in your family share your beliefs? If not, do they understand it?

Yes. I surround myself with family of the open minded. My direct family members vary largely in faith. Some lean towards native elders and nature while others are caught in the materialistic USA with to many financial pressures to free them for religion any longer. The great elders have all left the physical being and the current elders born 1920-40s remain set mostly on Christian praise.

Do you know others outside this group?

I am a leader and search for free thinkers daily to hold conversations of high intellect.

Do you consider yourself close to the people in this group?

Just met everyone for the first time.

Do you require support outside the group meetings from eachother?

Everyone at one time or another, needs “support”. Those who are ignored are the most likely to become lost and institutionalized. I founded a Helping Hands Charity to limit this from happening and publish writings to aid the efforts.

Are you a member of other social groups that share your beliefs? Which?

Please view my facebook profile page and follow the “like” links and also my blog at: for a very long list.

Is it hard for you to explain to others who do not share the same faith? Do you feel judged by your beliefs?

I am highly educated and well experienced in debate so I enjoy the opportunity to enlighten others. I host creative arts gatherings and talks for hours at a time. My friends/readers etc. are encouraged to judge me until they find their answers. As long as they bring me no physical harm my love for them remains unscathed.

Does your belief play an important part of your every day life or influence your decisions?

I return to my faith within every hour excluding NREM sleep stages for the most part. Nearly all my major decisions are related to my beliefs.

Given the chance would you learn other beliefs? What do you feel of the other beliefs?

By “beliefs” you actually mean “RELIGION” in this question.

See background. I have participated in most all religions. A main problem of most world religions is that they encourage followers instead of equals out of fear of chaos. They pressure others to accept one true and only way of thinking, when the holly-est of religion focuses equally on improving physical life through love and peace. Faith and spiritual understanding are parallel and not to be more important. Balance is the key to life as we know it. Yin and Yang. Dark and Light.
